MSM Powder, Great Anti-Inflammatory
Posted On 2009-10-29 , 11:15 PM
I have spent the last three weeks with Bursitis in both shoulders. The pain of lifting an arm above the shoulder height was excruciating. The Doctor, bless his little heart, suggested Cortisone injections "might" solve the problem, but couldn't guarantee the problem would not return. The wonders of medical science?
Bursitis, for those who do not know, is an inflammation of the area around joints, in my case the shoulder joint.
No injections for me. I was put onto MSM Powder by a friend. MSM is short for Methyl-Sulphonyl-Methane. a natural sulphur compound in power form. Most Health Food Stores will be able to supply it to you, often mixed with Vitamin C powder to aid its anti-inflammatory action.
The dose I used to cure my Bursitis in three days was initially one teaspoonfull, mixed in juice twice daily. This can be discontinued after the pain goes and started again if the twinge of pain returns, or better yet take a half teaspoonfull daily ongoing. The powder is best mixed in juice to kill the slightly bitter taste.
Whilst I can not personally vouch for it, I have found that most inflammatory joint conditions will benefit from MSM. So give it a go and tell me your stories, I'm sure you you will get equally good results

Universal Health Care

To my American friends , I am puzzled as to what the problem is and the angst of having a universal American healthcare system. World wide, other countries have this and deliver the Healthcare needed to their citizens without too much trouble. The cost is born through the normal taxation system. Perhaps some one could enlighten me.

Tinnitus Treatments

Tinnitus Treatments
Treatment for ringing in the ears is often sought by people whose tinnitus symptoms show no signs of abating with subsequent disruption to their lives. In this blog, I'll review some of the potential treatments that you can try.
Drugs
There are no current pharmaceutical drug cures for this condition.
Tinnitus Noise Masking
One possibility is to simply mask the ringing/buzzing with another noise in the background.for example, many sufferers will leave a TV on to go to sleep too. You can even buy a special pillow with a speaker built into it to let yourself drift off to the sound of the radio.
Retraining Therapy
This is usually the best that the medical profession can offer. It consists of counselling and listening to a noise generator. The idea is that you can learn how to ignore the tinnitus and not notice that it is there, but your tinnitus never actually goes away and from time to time you do still notice it.
Natural Cure
The medical profession believes that there is no cure for tinnitus because hearing loss cannot be reversed. Yet there are many people with hearing loss but without this condition - why is that?
The answer is that hearing loss is not enough, you must also have several lifestyle and environmental co-factors to cause this condition. So it follows that by eliminating these factors from your life then you can in fact lower your symptoms intensity and even cure yourself completely.
If tinnitus is driving you crazy, then free yourself from this debilitating condition once and for all. Discover the easy steps to naturally curing your tinnitus here: End Your Tinnitus Here!.

Nutrition And Eczema
Posted On 2009-06-21 , 12:52 AM
Nutrition And Eczema
Nutrition plays a very large role in the outcome for eczema sufferers. An important reason for eczema occurrence is the western diet which promotes inflammation in the body. A defect in the bodies ability to metabolise Gamma-linolenic acid, (GLA) is thought to play a major role in the onset and development of eczema. GLA is the molecule produced from linoleic acid, the body makes Prostaglandins and Arachodonic acid from it. These two products are used by the body to trigger allergic reactions and the bodies response to injury and attack. When there is too much GLA, the body has excessive inflammatory response. The Western diets have an excessive amount of Linoleic acid (omega 6) to the alpha -linolenic acid (omega 3) of 10:1.so GLA promotes inflammation when the person has a defect in its metabolism or usage. This defect is, I believe, the reason that some people suffer eczema .
It is proposed that an eczema sufferer should supplement their diet with specific nutrients, particularly calcium, iodine, vitamin C and omega 3 fatty acids. Vitamin C @ 50 to 75mg/kg has been found to be beneficial. Flaxseed oil and fish are good sources of omega 3 fatty acids. The inclusion of Vitamins A & B6, Zinc and Selenium, Biotin, Evening Primrose Oil & Lecithin are also proposed. Dosages should be worked out by your Naturopath or “enlightened” Doctor. Diet is the key to this problem.
